Hutchins Center at Harvard University
The Hutchins Center at Harvard University for African & African American Research supports research on the history and culture of people of African descent the world over and provides a forum for collaboration and the ongoing exchange of ideas.
Hutchins Center at Brookings
The Hutchins Center on Fiscal & Monetary Policy at Brookings provides independent, non-partisan analysis of fiscal and monetary policy issues to enhance the quality and effectiveness of these policies and to further public understanding.
Hutchins-Center-at-Lawrenceville
With the Hutchins Center at Lawrenceville, the Foundation supports three core initiatives: the Hutchins Institute for Social Justice, the Hutchins Scholars Programs, and the Hutchins Galleries
Obama Foundation and Presidential Center
The Obama Foundation seeks to inspire and empower people through leadership and civic engagement programs. It is building a world-class museum and public gathering space on the South Side of Chicago, which will be a hub for community engagement, education, history, sustainability, and democracy promotion.
CARE
For nearly 80 years, CARE has led the way to a better life for the world’s most vulnerable people. It works around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty, and achieve social justice.
George Jackson Academy
George Jackson Academy (GJA) is New York City’s only independent middle school for academically talented boys from families of all incomes. The school provides a nurturing and challenging environment designed specifically for boys in grades 4 through 8, focusing on developing their academic, social, and emotional skills.
Chronic Fatigue Initiative
The Chronic Fatigue Initiative (CFI), the Foundation’s first project, embarked on the first scientifically rigorous and statistically significant wide-scale research into the underlying infectious, immunological, and toxicological causes of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).
Vassar College and The Posse Foundation
In 2012, Vassar College became the nation’s first institution of higher education to partner with The Posse Foundation to recruit veterans for enrollment. The Posse Foundation identifies veterans who can excel academically, organizes them into cohorts (“Posses”), prepares them for the college experience, and supports them through graduation. The Hutchins Family Foundation donated to help Vassar guarantee full tuition to every veteran student selected.
Rye Country Day School
Rye Country Day School (RCDS) is a co-educational, college preparatory school in Rye, New York, offering education from Pre-K through Grade 12. RCDS combines traditional and innovative approaches to foster lifelong learning, character development, and academic excellence. Debbie Hutchins formerly served as Chair of the Board of Trustees of RCDS.
1992-1994
Clinton White House
Glenn Hutchins played a significant role in President Clinton’s transition team from 1992 to 1994 as a senior adviser focusing on economic policy. After the transition, he continued to serve as a Special Advisor on economic and healthcare policy during President Clinton’s administration.
2011-2020
Federal Reserve of NY
From 2011 through 2020, Mr. Hutchins served as a Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and as Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee. He also led the search for the Bank’s new President and CEO.
